Pilot Fountain Pens

The name of the Pilot Pen company probably derives from the original career plans of its founder, Ryosuke Namiki, who was a professor at the Tokyo Nautical School in the early 1910s. His invention of a gold fountain-pen tip launched the Namiki company in 1918.

Today, Pilot is best known in Western countries for its reliable, innovative disposable pens of all types, including disposable fountain pens. It also maintains the reputation of its founder in lines of handsomely crafted fountain pens prized by collectors.

Disposable fountain pens serve both those needing the clear, ink-based signature not possible with other inexpensive pens. Like all Pilot disposables, the fountain pens contain a transparent ink reservoir, allowing you to see how much ink remains.

Namiki fountain pens, refillable by twist-converter or cartridge, range from resin, sterling silver and other pens to exquisite designer lines, hand-crafted using traditional Japanese art techniques. Nearly all Namiki lines feature an 18-karat writing nib, although the Emperor line's writing tip is 19-karat. Pen motifs display traditional Japanese colors and nature themes, making them truly the gift for a lifetime.
